Bro. Chris Greanias served in the United States Navy during the Vietnam
conflict as Fire Controlman. He later re-enlisted in
the Naval Reserves and
served as a Company Commander. He retired from the
service as a Chief.
During the spring of 1972, while serving aboard ship,
was witnessed to by a
faithful Christian. While returning to the ship after
afternoon workout, he
surrendered his heart and life to the Savior. Bro.
Greanias has served as
a deacon at NSBC for longer than he can remember
(that's no surprise!).
He is currently our head deacon, song-leader, a
substitute Bible hour teacher,
and serves in AWANA. He is also a board member of
World Ministries to
the Armed Forces. Together, with his wife Sandy, they
are an invaluable
part of the ministry at NSBC and to our troops serving
throughout the world.
Bro. Archer served as a Dental officer in the Navy for 26 years,
retiring as a
Commander. On October, 1964, Oceanside, California, during
his first tour in
the Navy, with his wife Carole accepted Christ while
attending First Baptist
Church, Oceanside, CA. His salvation verse is 2 Tim. 3:16,
rather a strange
salvation verse perhaps, but for Bro. Archer, it forms the
foundation of all
scriptural truth, and it is the verse the Lord used to get
his attention and settle
his faith. Bro. Archer came to NSBC from another ministry and
joined our
fellowship in the summer of 1989. Dr. Archer was elected to
position of
deacon sometime in Autumn of 1990. He also serves as
Treasurer, part-time
adult teacher, and Vice-President of WMAF. Dr. Archer's
wisdom and spirit
are an essential part of our ministry. The Archer's devotion
to the Lord in their
service to NSBC and WMAF is absolutely indispensable!
